A global organization

The Pirate Parties are political incarnations of the freedom of expression movement, which seek to achieve their goals through the institutional political system and activism.

The name “Pirates” itself is a reclaim of the title that has been given by representatives of the music and film industry to Internet users with the aim of criminalizing positive behaviors such as exchange and cultural sharing to achieve a questionable deranged appropriation of copyright.

The name “Pirates” does not refer to any illegal activity.
